Youmeus have been supporting the Panasonic TV design team since 2009, providing design vision and strategic tonality across their product portfolio.

‘Byobu’ (屏風, meaning “wind wall”) draws inspiration from traditional Japanese folding screens. This adaptive TV concept is designed to transform, to meet different home viewing and sound experiences; TV, cinematic, and music modes.

The design features two screen modules, each equipped with multi-speaker arrays mounted on an internal aluminium frame and finished with acoustic fabric. This combination creates a warm, tactile aesthetic that seamlessly blends into the home environment.

Byobu was developed as part of a broader design vision project centred on Panasonic’s design philosophy, Future Craft.
