Jan 2009 | Westfield London
Died and gone to heaven.
10 years in the making Westfield shopping centre in Shepherds Bush West London is absolutely vast covering over 9 postcodes, 43 acres and 300 retailers. Opened October 2008 it has already attracted millions, seduced by it’s array of shops spanning from Prada to H&M, restaurants including outdoor terraces for smokers plus cinema. Thrilling most of all was the feeling of space and light that flowed throughout, at times bordering on futuristic, the floor to ceiling glass shop frontages, Champaign bar and giant chandelier . . . . all absolutely wonderful. As I left (millions of bags in hand) I texted a friend “I’ve died and gone to heaven!”
